The twentieth century witnessed the development of most of all tutelary, protectionist and paternalistic juvenile justice model in all legal systems. Once it was compulsory to guarantee the Rights of the Child, such arbitrary models devoid of legal principles were jeopardized.
The nearly universal implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) gave an extraordinary boost to the process of renovating legislation and organizing juvenile justice courts.
